A small selection of the varied photographic subjects I took this month...

Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) - Musselburgh, East Lothian

Avian highlight of the month was a Sparrowhawk flying directly towards me at high speed with a freshly killed Starling in its talons. Thankfully, I was quick enough to be able to blast off 5 frames before it shot over my head less than 5 seconds after I first spotted it! Unfortunately none of them are 100% sharp as there was not enough light to get a sufficiently fast shutter speed to freeze the action. The best of them are shown below...

A large part of my time was spent walking in Snowdonia trying to regain some of the fitness I have lost from 2 months of inactivity due to an Achilles' tendon injury.
