Green-winged Orchid
Green-winged Orchids are becoming increasingly local in Britain due to declining availability of suitable habitat but they can, however, still be found in some very dense colonies, such as at Upwood Meadows in Cambridgeshire.
The reason for its English name is not always immediately apparent, but on close examination of the flowers the green veins on the "wings" are fairly prominent.
