Taraxacum agg.
Dandelions may be one of the commonest and most familiar of British plants, but one thing that most people will not know is that the flowers collectively known as "Dandelions" actually comprise of 232 microspecies! All of them are very similar and their identification is far beyond my level of expertise.
Their seedheads develop into a feathery globe that is commonly referred to as a "Dandelion clock". Each seed is attached to a feathery parasol that aids wind dispersal.
