Acrobasis advenella can be quite variable in the degree of reddish suffusion on the forewing, as can be seen by the differences in the two individuals above and below.
It is found throughout most of the British Isles in hawthorn hedges and woodlands wherever hawthorn is present.
It is also frequently referred to by its synonym Trachycera advenella.
