Phyllonorycter corylifoliella adults can be found in the south of Britain from May to June and again in August, but in the north they only have a single generation which flies in July and August. Their larvae mine the leaves of a variety of trees and shrubs in the Rosaceae family, such as Hawthorn, Wild Pear, Apple and Rowan. They are common throughout most of the British Isles.
