Freyer's Pug is the subspecies of Eupithecia intricata found throughout most of southern and central England reaching as far north as Yorkshire. To the north of this range it is replaced by E. i. millieraria (Edinburgh Pug) and by E. i. hibernica in Ireland. The larvae of Freyer's Pug feed on a variety of exotic Juniper and Cypress trees in gardens, parks and plantations.
