Yellowhammer

Emberiza citrinella

Lincolnshire, England - February 2016

Yellowhammers have declined significantly in Britain over recent years, mainly due to intensive agricultural practices destroying their habitat and reducing available food. It's a different story in New Zealand, however, where they are now one of the commonest landbirds after being introduced by European settlers in the late-1800's.
