The Willie Wagtail is one of Australia's most widespread and familiar birds and in a recent survey was recorded in over 93% of all survey sections across the mainland of the country.
Willie Wagtails are opportunistic feeders and will often use large herbivores as a perch or lookout. If the animal, such as the Agile Wallaby pictured here, flushes any insects, the Willie Wagtail quickly catches them either in flight or on the ground.
