Named after its domed nest that resembles a Dutch oven, the Ovenbird is usually found walking along the forest floor where it forages among the leaf litter for invertebrates. It is a common summer visitor to forests throughout most of eastern North America, extending westwards in the boreal forests of Canada to Alberta and north-eastern British Columbia. It winters in Central America and the Caribbean.
