Florida Scrub-Jay is a range-restricted endemic to Florida, USA with the global population estimated to be around 6500 individuals in 2007 and still declining at a rate of about 4% per year due to habitat destruction.
They are a remarkably bold species and show absolutely no fear of humans, as was plainly evident when the individual below perched on my boot and spent about a minute trying to untie my shoelaces!
