This tiny little bird, only 10cm long including its long tail, is common in mixed scrub and woodland habitats throughout most of western North America.
Like most small birds, they are very fidgety and even when huddling together for warmth during a break from foraging, they are in constant motion, vying for the prized central positions on the branch.
