The Granite Spiny Lizard inhabits rocky coastal semi-arid and desert areas, and, as it's name suggests, is often observed basking on rocks.
In winter, they retreat to deep crevices where temperature fluctuations are not so extreme as are found at the surface. Up to 37 lizards have been found congregated together in a single crevice.
