Epiphyas postvittana is a native of Australia and was inadvertantly introduced to Britain in 1936. It has now spread widely throughout England, Wales and lowland areas of Scotland and is abundant in many areas.
It occurs in a variety of habitats where its larvae feed on a wide range of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants.
