Until recently, this small subfamily of the Drepanidae consisting of about 200 species worldwide was considered to be a family in its own right. Since all the popular literature up to 2012 except Clancy's "Moths of Great Britain and Ireland" (2012) give the 9 British species full family status as members of the Thyatiridae, I've treated them separately here to make it easier for people who are not expecting to find these species lumped with the Drepanidae.
