Caloptilia elongella is a bivoltine species where the Autumnal generation overwinters as adults and can be found on the wing until late April. The summer generation flies in June.
It is common throughout the British Isles in woodlands, gardens and wetland habitats. Adults are active in the late afternoon and can be attracted to light.
