Donacaula forficella

Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, England - June 2011

Donacaula forficella inhabits marshy areas in England, where its larvae feed on Common Reed (Phragmites australis) and sedges.  If its foodplant is growing in open water, the larvae cut a section of the reed and use it as a raft to reach fresh food supplies.
