Pale-browed Tinamou's range is restricted to lowland deciduous forest in western Ecuador and northwestern Peru.
As with all Tinamous, the Pale-browed is a very shy and secretive ground-dwelling bird and although it is fairly easy to see when it comes to the bird feeders at Jorupe, it always stays close to the edges and scurries back into the dense undergrowth at the slightest disturbance.
