This recently fledged chick spent about five minutes trying to coax its parent into feeding it.
Monk Parakeets are communal nesters and construct enormous nests that are used all year for nesting and roosting. It has been introduced to many areas in North America and Europe where its range and numbers are expanding, raising fears that it may become a serious crop pest.
