Arctic Redpoll is a rare, but annual vistor to Britain (mostly on the Northern Isles) with the vast majority of records belonging to the race exilipes, the smaller and browner of the two subspecies.
The pure white rump is one of the major features that separate Arctic Redpoll from the very similar Common Redpoll.
