Azure-winged Magpies have a very disjunct distribution. Their main population is widely spread through eastern Asia but a small, very isolated population also occurs in Spain and Portugal.
They are very sociable and are always found in small groups. In Spain, they are generally quite shy and are most commonly seen when flying between isolated groups of trees.
