Another cold snap briefly froze the ponds over at Attenborough again and pushed the normally shy Goosanders close enough to photograph. Unfortunately, the light was very poor and I was only able to get shutter speeds of 1/80th of a second even at ISO500. This is a bit on the slow side for freezing motion blur but I still managed to get a few sharp ones.

The snow didn't stay long this time. Most of the 10cm that fell in the early morning had melted by lunchtime and the reserve returned to its usual muddy self.
