Coues's Arctic Redpoll breed on the tundras of Eurasia and North America, with one or two usually reaching Britain on migration every year. The bird photographed here spent the winter at Aberlady Bay in association with a small flock of Mealy Redpolls and was only the 3rd record for Lothian.
